Redwood Empire – Emerald Giant Rye Cask Strength (58.2%)

Emerald Giant is a limited edition cask strength rye from Redwood Empire, bottled at 116.4 proof (58.2%). It was aged for a minimum of four years in the temperate climate of the Northern California coast. Redwood Empire was established in 2015. Its distillery uses water from the nearby Russian River aquifer, with grains many of which come from California. The whiskey is burnt orange in colour. The nose is delicate herbal tea, soft cinnamon and dried orange peel. On the palate there is Earl Grey tea, a viscous texture and dark chocolate coffee beans, ending in a warm spice finish.
