Redwood Empire Rocket Top Rye Whiskey

A rye whiskey from Redwood Empire, bottled under the rules of the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897. It was aged in the temperate climate of the Northern California coast, and the only change made to the original distillate was the addition of water from the Russian River Valley aquifer. The name refers to Rocket Top, a coastal redwood in the Patriarch Forest at Humboldt Redwoods State Park, a tree said to resemble a 365-foot bottle rocket. The nose shows bergamot, sage and dates. On the palate there are fig jam, caramel corn and cracked pink peppercorn.
