Remus Highest Rye is a straight bourbon aged for 6 years. It uses the highest proportion of rye that a bourbon can contain, and was made as a tribute to the popularity of rye in the years leading up to Prohibition.
The nose is rich fruit syrup with a little maple, alongside caramel, vanilla, barrel char, mint, cinnamon, fig and saddle leather. On the palate there is robust candied fruit with caramel, vanilla, a touch of sweet cream and candied raisin. The finish is long and spicy, with cinnamon, a hint of nutmeg and fruit, and rich saddle leather.
