Renault Carte Noire VSOP Cognac (70cl, 40%)

Renault Carte Noire VSOP is a cognac built on the Carte Noire blend first made in the late 1870s, one of the oldest original cognac recipes still in use. The wine is distilled twice, and only the heart of the distillate goes into the eau-de-vie, which is aged on average for six to eight years in barrels of oak from the Tronçais forest. In the glass it is amber with a golden glow. On the palate there is honey, dried fig and orange blossom, with a touch of cinnamon and hazelnut, balanced between candied fruit, vanilla and light oak. The finish is long, soft and full. It comes in a 70cl bottle at 40% abv.
