A red wine from Ribera del Duero, made from Tempranillo grown on 15-40 year old vines at 600-900 metres in the Cuenca del Riaza area near Fuentecén. Three months in oak gives a rustic, spicy, classic Ribera character.
The bouquet is youthful, with cherry, blackcurrant, marzipan and vanilla. The palate brings liquorice, violets, blackcurrant, blackberry, pepper and a little tobacco, with an elegant underlying oak note. The finish is long, delicate and harmonious.
Serve at 17-19 degrees in large glasses, with beef, lamb, tapas or Asian-inspired dishes.
