Rieger Straight Bourbon Whiskey is a straight bourbon from the revived Rieger distillery in Kansas City. Jacob Rieger & Company was founded in 1887 in the West Bottoms Livestock Exchange district of Kansas City, and it closed when Prohibition arrived in 1919. Kansas City bartender Ryan Maybee dreamed of reopening it from 2010. He partnered with chef Howard Hanna on a restaurant called The Rieger, where a relative of the original Rieger family attended the opening. With help from Dave Pickerell, the distillery was brought back into production in 2014.
