Rittenhouse Rye Whiskey (75cl, 50%)

Rittenhouse Rye is a straight rye whiskey from Heaven Hill, distilled at its Bernheim Distillery in Louisville, Kentucky and bottled at 50% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It carries Bottled-in-Bond status: one distiller, one distilling season and at least four years in a federally bonded warehouse. The mash bill is 51% rye, 35% corn and 14% malted barley, in the Pennsylvania style. The brand first appeared in Philadelphia in 1934, and Heaven Hill acquired it in 1993. The nose offers dried fruit, toffee and sweet pepper. The palate is rich, with cocoa, citrus, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla, and the finish lingers with maple-like spice.
