Rittenhouse Straight Rye Whiskey (70cl, 50%)

This is a Kentucky straight rye whiskey from Heaven Hill, bottled in bond at 50% in a 70cl bottle. The name honours Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia. Bottled-in-bond is an American designation that means the whiskey meets a set of specific requirements. It has won a double gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. The colour is a deep mahogany. The nose brings dried fruit, toffee and sweet peppers. The palate is clean and full, with cocoa, citrus, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla, and the lasting finish carries a maple-like spice.
