Rochefort 8 is a Belgian Trappist beer of 9.2% ABV, in the style of a quadrupel, brewed at the abbey of Notre-Dame de Saint-Remy in the south of the country. It is a dark beer, though not quite as dark as Rochefort 10.
The aroma is spicy with a slightly vinous quality. In the mouth it is warming, with soft caramel, milk chocolate and clear notes of dried fruit. The finish turns to a malty bitterness with a hint of clove.
