Rod & Hammer's Straight Rye is a rye whiskey made on California's Central Coast. It is distilled from a high rye mash bill and aged in new charred American oak barrels.
The nose is spicy rye grain with black pepper and warm vanilla. Pepper and clove lead the palate, followed by caramel, dried fruit and charred oak, and the long, warming finish stays spicy with a touch of sweetness.
