Rod & Hammer's Straight Rye Whiskey is a high-rye American whiskey bottled at 45% ABV in a 750ml bottle. The mash bill is 95% rye and 5% malted barley, and the whiskey was aged for two years in new American white oak barrels. It won a Gold Medal at the 2023 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
The nose is bold and spicy, with black pepper and cedar, and hints of leather and smoke. On the palate, hot rye spice leads, with caramel sweetness and a touch of toasted oak. The finish is long and warming, with smoke and lingering caramel.
