A red wine from Velenosi, made from Montepulciano and Sangiovese, with 18 months in barrique followed by at least 6 months in bottle.
It is deep ruby red with garnet reflections. Aromas include ripe red fruits such as cherries and plums, with spicy notes of vanilla, tobacco and dark chocolate from the wood ageing. On the palate it is robust but balanced, with mature, well-integrated tannins and a long aromatic persistence.
It suits grilled red meats, roasts, game and aged cheeses, and can also be enjoyed as a meditation wine.
