Roku Sakura Bloom Edition Gin (70cl, 43%)

Roku Sakura Bloom Edition is a Japanese flavoured gin from Suntory, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It is the first release in the Seasonal Festival Collection and celebrates the short spring flowering of the sakura tree. Six Japanese botanicals are used: cherry blossom, cherry leaf, sencha tea, gyokuro tea, sanshō pepper and yuzu. They sit alongside eight traditional gin botanicals, among them juniper, orange peel, lemon peel, coriander and cinnamon. It carries more cherry blossom than the classic Roku, so it is a little more floral and salty. The label is printed on washi paper. Cherry blossom and leaf come first, then classic gin and slightly tannic tea notes, with citrus and fruity sweetness beneath and a peppery finish.
