Ron Colón Salvadoreño Red Banana Oleo Rum (70cl, 40.5%)

This rum from Ron Colón is built on a blend of 6-year-old column-still rum from El Salvador and high-ester Jamaican pot-still rums. It is bottled at 40.5% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The base rum is infused with a homemade oleo-saccharum made from fresh red banana peels and sugarcane, which brings a rich, concentrated fruity sweetness. It suits Tiki drinks or a twist on an Old Fashioned. On the palate there is caramelised banana, roasted tropical fruit, funky Jamaican esters and warm baking spices, finishing with a subtle depth of dark chocolate.
