A 23-year-old aged rum from Guatemala in a 70cl bottle. It matures under the solera system high in the mountains, at more than 2,300 metres, where the climate suits slow, gradual ageing in oak casks.
The nose offers toffee, dark chocolate, vanilla and almond, with nutmeg, black pepper and a faint smokiness from the wood emerging as it opens. The palate is very smooth, with honey sweetness, rich chocolate and a touch of dried fruit. The finish is long and lingering.
