A red wine from Tuscany, produced by Tenuta Sette Ponti from Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The estate uses sustainable viticulture, and the Mediterranean climate favours good grape ripening. In the glass it is deeply ruby red, with aromas of ripe red fruit, sweet spices, aromatic herbs and earthy minerals. On the palate it is richly layered, with lively acidity, soft tannins and a full body. Cassis, plum and chocolate combine with delicate vanilla and toasty notes from ageing in French oak barriques. Serve at about 18°C; decant for at least one hour before serving.
