Rossville Union – Master Crafted Cask Strength Single Barrel Straight Rye Whiskey (75cl, 56.6%)

This is a single barrel straight rye whiskey from Rossville Union, the house brand of the MGP distillery in Indiana. The rye is at least five years old and was bottled at cask strength, 56.6% ABV (113.2 proof), in a 75cl bottle. The heat at that strength is considerable when the whisky is taken without water. With a little water added, baking spices come forward: clove and cinnamon join the sweetness of the oak, alongside the herbal character of the rye. It is suggested for drinking over ice or in an Old Fashioned.
