Royal Brackla 16 Years is a Highland single malt in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in ex-bourbon casks and finished in ex-Oloroso sherry casks.
The distillery was founded by Captain William Fraser in 1812, near Nairn. It was one of only three to be granted the royal title, by King William IV and later by Queen Victoria. Fermentation runs for 72 hours, and the spirit is distilled in stills taller than usual.
The nose is fruity and creamy, with melon, ripe peach, apricot, almonds, butter, marzipan and touches of sweet spice. The palate follows the nose and ends in a long finish.
