Royal Brackla 16 Years is a Highland single malt from the Cawdor Estate distillery, which dates its founding to 1812. It comes at 40% in a 70cl bottle.
Much of Royal Brackla's whisky goes into blends such as Dewar's, so a single malt bottling is a less common sight. This one was matured in several casks, including first-fill Oloroso sherry casks.
The nose is complex, with nuts, honey, citrus, milk chocolate and raisins. The palate brings hazelnuts, marzipan, orange and wood, and the finish carries hints of tea and spice.
