This is a 20 year old Highland single malt from Royal Brackla, distilled on 8th April 2003 and bottled in 2023 at 54.1% ABV. It is a single cask release, with 330 bottles drawn from the one cask, in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky matured first in a refill bourbon barrel. Since 20th July 2021 it has been finished in a Palo Cortado sherry cask. Palo Cortado is a drier, more delicate sherry, close to Fino in style but nearer to Oloroso in weight and spice.
The nose is typically described as ripe apricot and creamy vanilla, like a crème brûlée topped with fruit, with fresh orange zest and a little roasted coffee.
