This is a 16 year old single malt from Royal Lochnager, the 2021 release, in a 700ml bottle at 57.5% vol.
The nose is soft and rounded, with orange zest and green apple over a mossy, lightly woody base and a hint of puff pastry. A splash of water brings out firm white grapes and more spice.
The palate is creamy and barley-sugar sweet from the start, with fruity acidity mid-palate and a developing oaky dryness. Water smooths the texture further as a spicy warmth builds.
