A 21-year-old blended Scotch from Royal Salute, the Desert Jewel Polo Edition is the eighth release in the Polo Collection, blended by Master Blender Emeritus Sandy Hyslop. The whole blend was finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. It is bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle.
The edition is dedicated to Dubai and Abu Dhabi, and its turquoise bottle recalls the waters of the region.
On the nose, sweet cranberries, glazed cherries and cooked apples meet cinnamon pastry, almond praline and nutmeg. The palate is full and spicy, with mango, blood orange, dates, marzipan and orange peel, then ginger and sweet oak. The finish is soft and velvety, with lingering ginger.
