Royal Salute 21 Year Old The Sapphire Flagon is a blended Scotch whisky bottled at 40% in a 70cl porcelain flagon. It was first launched on 2 June 1953 as a tribute to Queen Elizabeth II on her coronation day.
The name comes from the 21 Gun Royal Salute, fired as a mark of respect for dignitaries. The whisky is aged for 21 years in oak.
The flagon's colour draws on the stones set in the coronation crown. The flagons come in ruby, emerald and sapphire, and each bottle is numbered.
