Royal Salute 21 Year Old The Signature Blend Chinese New Year Limited Edition is a blended Scotch whisky of malt and grain whiskies aged in oak casks. It is bottled at 80 proof (40%) in a 700ml bottle, and every whisky in the blend is aged for at least 21 years.
It comes in a handcrafted porcelain flagon with Chinese New Year packaging of dragons and intricate patterns, made to mark the festival. The Royal Salute range was first created in 1953 to celebrate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II.
Sweet orchard fruit, honey, vanilla and soft floral notes mark the nose. The palate has toffee, ripe pear, hazelnut, gentle spice and creamy oak, and the finish is long with lingering sweetness and subtle spice.
