Royal Salute 21 Year Old is a blended Scotch from Chivas Brothers, bottled at 40% ABV in a 750ml bottle. Every whisky in the blend has matured for at least 21 years.
The brand was created in 1953 to mark the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. The age matches the 21-gun salute fired on coronations and state occasions. Master Blender Charles Julian spent seven years developing the blend.
The nose has vanilla, toasted oak, baked cherries, white raisin and cherry blossom. On the palate come dried apricot, vanilla, soft spice, biscuit and subtle smoke, and the finish is long, smooth, honeyed and warm.
