Rozès 2017 Vintage Port (75cl, 20%)

Rozès 2017 Vintage Port is a declared vintage fortified wine from the Douro, in a 75cl bottle. Rozès was founded in 1855 and was the first port shipper to settle in the Douro. The blend draws on estate vineyards across all three Douro sub-regions. It combines Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinto Cão and Sousão. The grapes were trodden in traditional stone lagares and fermented in stainless steel, then fortified with neutral grape spirit and rested briefly in neutral vessels without oak. The nose is dense and primary, with black cherry, blackberry and violets over dark chocolate and crushed rock. The palate is full and structured, with ripe black fruit, fig, baking spice and firm, fine tannins, and the finish is long, warm and gripping.
