Rum Appleton Estate Rare 12 Year Old is a dark rum from Appleton Estate in the Nassau Valley, Jamaica. It is distilled from pure sugar cane molasses and aged for a minimum of twelve years in oak barrels that previously held bourbon. On the nose it offers nutmeg, vanilla, a light almond note, honey and coconut. On the palate it balances sweetness and robustness, with maple syrup and vanilla combining with dried fruit and exotic spices. The finish is long and warm, with a gentle lingering spice. It is suited to drinking neat or as a base for sophisticated cocktails.
