Nation Demerara Solera N°14 is an aged rum from Guyana, made from molasses and blended from rums of different ages. Some are distilled in pot stills for richness and body, others in column stills for a lighter base.
It ages mostly in bourbon casks, with 12 months in Pedro Ximénez and oloroso sherry casks, which add creamy sweetness and a spicy edge. A small share of very old Enmore rum is added for complexity.
The nose brings cola, myrtle and bergamot tea. The palate is viscous, with cane molasses, dark chocolate, coffee and sultanas, and a toasted, slightly bitter herbal note of black tea and gentian behind.
