Rum Nation Demerara Solera No. 14 is a Demerara rum drawn from a blend of pot still and column still spirit. It was aged in used American bourbon barrels, then given a 12-month finish in sherry casks that previously held Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez.
The nose is dark and rich in esters, with a hint of barbecue smoke. The palate is sweet, creamy and rounded, almost syrupy without being sugary, with cinnamon, orange peel and black pepper. The finish stays creamy over a spicy background of oak, coffee, dark chocolate, liquorice and aniseed.
