Rum Vieux Blended - A Mesccia (70cl)

A Mesccia Vieux is an aged rum rooted in a seventeenth-century Monegasque tradition blending Caribbean rum with European liqueurs such as vermouth and Marsala. The Principality of Monaco and Velier reinterpret that tradition using high-quality rum and ageing in casks previously used for vermouth. Production starts from Crystalline sugar cane grown in the Grand Cru of Saint-Michel-de-l'Attalaye in Haiti; the pure cane juice undergoes long fermentation with wild yeasts, then a first distillation in a pot still at Port-au-Prince. The distillate is transferred to Monaco-Montecarlo for a second distillation in a Khote still at L'Orangerie - Distillerie de Monaco.
