Russell's Reserve Rye 6 Year Old (75cl, 45%)

Russell's Reserve Rye is a 6-year-old Kentucky straight rye whiskey from Wild Turkey Distillery in Lawrenceburg, bottled at 45% in a 750ml bottle. The mashbill is 51% rye, 37% corn and 12% malted barley. The barrels are hand-selected from the centre floors of the distillery's timber rickhouses and carry Wild Turkey's deep #4 'alligator' char. Master Distiller Jimmy Russell and his son Eddie Russell oversee the barrel selection. The nose combines dried hay, soft vanilla, light oak and a hint of almond cake. On the palate there is butterscotch, citrus zest, allspice and caramel, and the finish is medium, with black pepper, vanilla and dry oak.
