This is a six-year-old straight rye whiskey from Wild Turkey's Russell's Reserve range, which is named after the father-and-son master distillers Jimmy and Eddie Russell. It comes in a 70cl bottle.
It is made in small batches from rye, aged for at least six years in American oak barrels charred to the highest level.
The nose is strong with vanilla and cinnamon, alongside charred oak and leather. The palate shows a complex, woody sweetness with caramel and cloves, leading to a long finish of spicy rye and toasted nuts.
