Russell's Reserve Single Barrel Rye Whiskey (75cl, 52%)

Russell's Reserve Single Barrel Rye is a Kentucky straight rye from the Wild Turkey Distillery in Lawrenceburg, bottled one hand-selected barrel at a time at 52% ABV in a 750ml bottle. The barrels are No. 4 alligator char, there is no age statement, and the whiskey is non-chill filtered. The mash bill is 51% rye, 37% corn and 12% malted barley. The Russell's Reserve range began as Eddie Russell's tribute to his father Jimmy's 45th anniversary at Wild Turkey. This rye was added in 2015. Tasting notes mention lemon, vanilla and spicy oak with orange peel and ginger on the nose, pepper, vanilla and tobacco on the palate, and a finish of pear drops and peppercorn.
