Rye & Sons Kentucky Rye Whiskey (75cl, 48.5%)

Rye & Sons is a Kentucky straight rye whiskey released in annual vintages and created by the sommelier, winemaker and restaurateur André Hueston Mack. The mash bill is roughly 60% rye, 20% barley and 20% corn, a lower rye content than many ryes. It was distilled in Kentucky, with Castle & Key named for recent vintages, and bottled by Pinhook Bourbon. The current vintage is 48.5% in a 750ml bottle. Rye spice comes first, with cinnamon and clove, over a soft malted-barley middle and sweet corn warmth. The finish is long and rounded, with vanilla and light oak.
