S. Fassbind Eau de Vie de Prune (70cl, 42%)

This is a traditional Swiss plum brandy from S. Fassbind, an eau de vie de prune from the 1970s. It is bottled at 42% in a 70cl stoneware flagon rather than a glass bottle. The flagon is the most distinctive part of the presentation, a traditional vessel for a spirit distilled from plums. At 42% it sits a little above the usual drinking strength of many fruit brandies, and it belongs among the digestifs.
