Sandeman 10 Year Old Port (75cl)

This is a 10 Year Old port from Sandeman, produced in the Douro in Portugal and sold in a 75cl bottle. The wine is fermented with intense maceration, which is stopped once body and bouquet reach a good balance. It then ages for ten years in oak casks. George Sandeman, a Scot, founded the house in 1790 on the trade in Portuguese wines. The nose is broad and elegant, with ripe red fruit, cherry jam, toasted hazelnuts and vanilla. The palate is full-bodied and intense, leading to a pleasantly persistent finish.
