This is a 1970s bottling of Sanderson's VAT 69 blended Scotch whisky, at 43% in a 75cl bottle. William Sanderson, founder of the company, created the original blend in 1882. From a selection of one hundred of his finest blends, he and a group of friends and experts chose vat number sixty-nine as their preferred one, and the whisky took its name from it. It was originally put into port bottles, which is reflected in the shape of the bottle.
