Santa Teresa 1796 Speyside Whisky Cask Finish (70cl)

Santa Teresa 1796 is a Venezuelan dark rum made as a limited edition, blending rums aged for up to 35 years. It is built on the traditional solera method, with ageing in oak, a slow concentration through four levels of casks and a further stage in French oak. What sets this edition apart is a final 13 months in casks that previously held Scotch whisky from Speyside distilleries, which adds dried fruit and vanilla notes. The colour is reddish amber. The nose offers caramel, vanilla, cocoa and a trace of light peat. On the palate come coffee, honey, apricot, nuts and bitter chocolate.
