Santa Teresa 1796 (70cl)

Santa Teresa 1796 is a Venezuelan rum in a 70cl bottle, made at a family-run distillery in El Consejo, in the state of Aragua. It is a blend of rums aged between 4 and 35 years, created as a tribute to the founder of the estate. The rum is matured by the solera method, in which casks are stacked in rows and part of the contents moves down a level each year, so the rum at the base combines several vintages. The nose offers vanilla, tobacco and toffee, with dried apricot and banana, moving towards cinnamon and popcorn. The palate is rich and sweet, with honey and brown sugar, then walnut, coconut and wood. The finish is dry, long and smoky, with dark chocolate.
