Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG from Santi, presented in a magnum format.
It shows an intense, deep garnet red colour. The nose offers mature fruit such as cherries in spirit and plums, with chocolate, sweet spices, vanilla and a touch of tobacco from careful ageing in wood. On the palate it is powerful yet elegant, with present but soft, well-integrated tannins and balanced acidity; flavours of mature fruit, chocolate and spices lead to a persistent finish.
It suits rich, savoury dishes such as red meats, stews, game and aged cheeses.
