Valpolicella Ripasso Classico Superiore DOC from Santi, presented in a Magnum format.
Solane is a selection made using the traditional Ripasso method, in which the wine undergoes a second fermentation on Amarone pomace, giving greater body, complexity and aromatic intensity. Ageing in wood adds further layers.
It has a deep ruby colour with garnet reflections. The nose shows ripe red fruit such as cherries and plums, sweet spices, chocolate and a light tobacco accent. On the palate it is rich and layered, with balance between fruit sweetness, refreshing acidity and silky tannins, and persistent flavours.
