Sazerac Full Proof Rye Whiskey (62.5%)

Sazerac Full Proof is an American straight rye whiskey from the Sazerac Company, bottled at 62.5% ABV, close to the strength at which it leaves the barrel. The base whiskey comes from a high-rye mash bill, which puts spicy rye grain ahead of sweet corn. Bottling at full proof keeps the oak and grain character concentrated, and the whiskey is lightly filtered. On the nose, black pepper, dried ginger and clove sit over grilled citrus peel and mint, with caramel and charred oak beneath. The palate is full-bodied, with dark spice, brown sugar and molasses, and earthy rye grain, then leather and toasted pecan. The finish is long and warming.
