This is a straight rye whiskey from Sazerac, named after Thomas H. Handy, the New Orleans bartender who first used rye whiskey in the Sazerac cocktail. It is bottled straight from the barrel, uncut and unfiltered.
In the glass it is described as powerful, lush and boldly spicy, with toffee, fig cake and candied fruit followed by mint, cinnamon and clove. The finish brings allspice, coconut and nutmeg, and it is long and warm.
