Sazerac Rye Whiskey 100 Proof is a Kentucky straight rye from Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, bottled at 50% ABV (100 proof) in a 1 litre bottle.
It was developed with bartenders and mixology in mind, and is made as a rye for cocktails such as the Sazerac, Manhattan and Old Fashioned.
The nose shows clove, black pepper, aniseed, liquorice, vanilla and citrus zest. On the palate come rye spice, caramel, candied orange and liquorice, and the finish is warm, spicy and lingering, with rye pepper and oak.
