Sazerac Rye Whiskey is a 6 year old rye in a 75cl bottle, tied closely to the history of New Orleans. Rye whiskey there dates back to the 1800s, when saloons posing as coffee houses lined the streets. At the Sazerac Coffee House on Royal Street, patrons were served toddies made with rye whiskey and Peychaud's Bitters. The drink became known as the Sazerac, described as America's first branded cocktail.
