Scallywag Red Nosed Reindeer is a limited edition 10 year old blended malt from Douglas Laing, a marriage of sherry-matured Speyside single malts. This is the No. 2 edition, in a 70cl bottle.
The red packaging with gold foil detail features the Fox Terrier from the Scallywag label, here with antlers and a red nose in the manner of a Christmas reindeer.
The nose is sweet, with Christmas cake, icing sugar, sultanas and candied ginger, plus a few grain notes. Nutmeg, cereal, vanilla and cinnamon give the palate a touch of spice, with sherry throughout. The finish has a pinch of oak spice alongside vanilla and sherry.
