Scapa The Orcadian is a 16 year old single malt from the Scapa distillery on the Mainland of Orkney, overlooking Scapa Flow. It is bottled at 48% ABV, non-chill-filtered, in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky is matured mainly in ex-American oak barrels, which give a creamy, sweet and gently spiced character.
The nose is tropical, with juicy mango, leather, vanilla cream and clementine peel. On the palate there are spiced apple pie, vanilla fudge, baked pineapple and mulled spices, rounded by soft oak. The finish is fruity and gently spiced, leaving a sweet warmth.
