A 10-year-old Blair Athol from the Highlands, bottled as a single cask for the Scotch Drinkers Only range. It spent its first ten years in ex-bourbon before moving into a first fill ex-Reposado tequila cask for a finishing period, and was bottled at 57.5% ABV in a 70cl bottle, one of 246 bottles. It is natural colour and non-chill filtered.
The tequila finish was chosen by the brand's founder, a long-time tequila enthusiast, to add citrus, sweet agave and gentle pepper spice to Blair Athol's malty character.
The nose is bright citrus peel, honey, vanilla and baked apple. The palate is rich malt and toffee with candied lemon and white pepper, and the finish is long and lively with citrus zest and cracked pepper.
