This is a single cask Staoisha, the heavily peated spirit of Bunnahabhain distillery on Islay, bottled for the Scotch Drinkers Only range. It was matured for seven years in a hogshead and bottled at its natural cask strength of 54.5% ABV in a 70cl bottle, giving an outturn of 120 bottles. It is natural colour and non-chill filtered.
The peat is bold but well integrated, with sweetness and coastal character alongside it.
The nose offers campfire smoke, charred driftwood, smoked bacon, lemon zest and sea spray. On the palate are barbecue smoke, salted caramel, vanilla cream and grilled citrus. The finish is long, with coastal smoke, embers, sea salt and a touch of citrus zest.
