First fill ex-Calvados finish
A 16-year-old Strathmill from Speyside, bottled as a single cask at natural cask strength for the Scotch Drinkers Only range, in a 70cl bottle from an outturn of 258 bottles. After 16 years of maturation it was finished in a first fill ex-Calvados cask. It is natural colour and non-chill filtered. The brand's founder, an admirer of French brandy, wanted to bottle a Calvados-finished malt, and the finish adds baked orchard fruit, honey, vanilla and apple notes to the fruity spirit. The nose offers stewed apples, ripe pear, blossom honey and shortbread. The palate is rich, with baked apple tart, vanilla custard and malted biscuits, and the finish is long and warming with apple skin, honey and cinnamon.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
